Combat/Nature mage is the best dual character to play because when casting spells you increase your intellegence more than anything else and when you switch over to the other magic you will already have the intellegence and you other magic skill will level very quickly. With regard to the combat/nature magic situation you will find that if you start using nature magic spells now you will find that they level pretty damn quickly.

Also cast lots of summons because they earn you experience when they fight as well. Try doing more damage in combat by using your attacking spells. So if he is doing most of the damage you will find he is leveling up quicker. The reason that Melee fighters level quicker is because you get most of your experience through doing damage from physical attacks or spells. I've never even heard of the spell you are talking about though. It lists all the spells so I will take a look. My guess is that there will be although I will check my stategy guide when I get home. Anyone else run into this issue? Is there a spell for Combat mages that will give you Nature magic at your Combat magic level for a short time?

Combat magic = waste of frickin' time!! (unless of course you're a nature mage) I'm a little pissed because my friend's Nature mage has passed my Combat mage in Combat magic plus he still has all his Nature magic. Nature magic = good, plus, once you get the conversion spell, you can level out to dual Nature/Combat in about half an hour. All from the little spell that the Nature mages have. This morning he tells me he's already at Combat magic 32. I thinkin' that would be cool in certain situations.

My friend the Nature mage finds this spell that allows a Nature mage to become a Combat mage at your Nature magic rating for a short period of time. We're thinking, "Huh, rocks to be a fighter." Fast forward to last night. By the next morning (you know how it is, heh), the fighter is ~6 levels ahead of the mages. We all specialize in different areas, One as straight Melee, one as a Nature Mage/Archer, and me as a Combat Mage/Archer. So last week, my friends and I start up an MP game of DS.
